Olu Ogunlela is the Co-Founder & Curator of Gridless Africa, a clean energy think tank on a mission to accelerate the deployment of sustainable energy in Africa. Gridless Africa is known for hosting clean energy stakeholders around the world during its weekly Tweetchat series, discussing industry trends and fostering value-added connections amongst industry players.

Olu is an Appropriate Technologist (renewable energy engineer and sustainable development expert) with 7 years hands-on experience which cuts across the value chain of renewable energy sector (Technical Sales & Marketing, Operations & Management, Design, Engineering & Installation, Project Management, Social Media & Communications with a concentration on solar energy technologies). Before the emergence of Gridless Africa, Olu was a Senior Engineer Tech at SunRun Inc, USA, overseeing over 50 Engineer Techs nationwide and instrumental in the deployment of 3,000kW combined residential solar systems scattered around Silicon Valley (San Francisco Bay Area) and a Technical Sales Engineer at Lighthouse Solar, USA.

His educational background includes a bachelor's from the Appalachian State University and an engineering diploma from Georgia State Perimeter College. In addition to steering Gridless Africa, he is the Co-Founder & CEO of Quintessential Solar, an innovative decentralized clean energy startup. Olu was a professional athlete with Team Nigeria and is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys running & cycling for leisure.

In his spare time, Olu productivity consults for individuals and entrepreneurs helping his clients build systems and process to increase resource efficiency. He is the creator of Kairos Krunch: a personalized time tracking and goal achievement app
